Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Authors' responsibilities

Reporting standards

Authors of original research reports should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the manuscript. A manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the research. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable.

Data access and retention

Under special circumstances authors may be asked to provide the raw data of their study for Editorial review and should be prepared to make the data publicly available if practicable. In any event, authors should ensure accessibility of such data to other competent professionals for at least ten years after publication, provided that the confidentiality of the participants can be protected and legal rights concerning proprietary data do not preclude their release.

Multiple, redundant or concurrent publication

In general, papers describing essentially the same research should not be published in more than one journal. Submitting the same paper to more than one journal constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable. Manuscripts which have been published as copyrighted material elsewhere cannot be submitted.

Originality, plagiarism and acknowledgement of sources

Authors will submit only entirely original works, and will appropriately cite or quote the work and/or words of others. Publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work should also be cited.

Author Guidelines

The Rajshahi University journal of Life & Earth and Agricultural Sciences is an open access peer reviewed journal published by University of Rajshahi that provides rapid publication of articles in all areas of life & earth and agricultural sciences. The journal welcomes the submission of manuscripts that meet the general criteria of significance and scientific excellence. Papers will be published shortly after acceptance. Manuscript should be submitted online. A free registration is needed for submitting manuscript for the first time to journal (No need to register separately for different journals). However, author who will fail to submit online should contact for technical support.

Article Types

There are two types of manuscripts may be submitted: Regular articles and reviews.

Regular Articles: These should describe new and carefully confirmed findings, and experimental procedures should be given in sufficient detail for others to verify the work. The length of a full paper should be the minimum required to describe and interpret the work clearly.

Reviews: Submissions of reviews and perspectives covering topics of current interest are welcome and encouraged. Reviews should be concise, but there is no page limitation. Reviews are also peer-reviewed.

Review Process

After submission, Editorial Assistant will check the paper’s composition and arrangement against the RUJLEAS’s Author Guidelines to make sure it includes the required sections and stylizations. The quality of the paper is not assessed at this point. If a manuscript passes this stage it will be forwarded to the EIC checks that the paper is appropriate for the journal and is sufficiently original and interesting. If not, the paper may be rejected without being reviewed any further. If the manuscript is accepted at this level, it would be sent to two reviewers for in depth review. Based on their reports, final decision will be made by the EIC / Handling Editor. An additional review by a third reviewer may be carried out if it becomes difficult to reach a decision from the comments made by initial reviewers (1st and 2nd reviewers).  Four types of decisions can be yielded this time after in depth review-

  • Accepted (with no change of manuscript)
  • Accepted after minor correction
  • Accepted after major correction
  • Rejected

Decisions on the submitted manuscript will be made as rapidly as possible, and the journal strives to return reviewers’ comments to authors promptly. If the manuscript is accepted with minor/major correction, it would be returned to corresponding author to perform necessary correction according to the reviewer’s comment. Author will get 2 months to resubmit the manuscript. The Editorial board will re-review manuscripts that are accepted pending revision. Finally the manuscript will be reviewed by the Chief Editor at the last stage of publishing.

Publishing paper

Accepted paper will normally be published online.
