Zakat, Nisab, Zakat on four-legged animalsAbstract
The animal kingdom is huge and divided into different types. Very few of them are suitable for human utilization. This animal kingdom is the manifestation of the grace of Allah for the mankind. Many verses are there in the Qur'an about animals. Reviewing these verses, it is seen that two classes of animals are mentioned. There is Zakat on one class of animals and another class is void of Zakat, and all the animals on which Zakat is obligatory will not be payable until the amount reaches nisab. Generally, Zakat must be paid on three classes of four-legged animals. e.g., camel; Cattle or cattle quadrupeds, such as buffalo and goat or goat quadrupeds, such as sheep, ewes, etc. Besides that, some jurists have expressed the view that Zakat is obligatory on some other four-legged animals. The amount of nisab is also different for different four-legged animals. The main purpose of this article is to analyze the amount of nisab on different types of four-legged animals.
