Abstract

Moulvi Nazir Ahmad Dehlvi, also known as "Deputy” Nazir Ahmad, was the first Novelist of literature. Nazir Ahmad was born in 1831 to a family of scholars in Rehar village, U.P. in India. Deputy Nazir Ahmed is the first novelist in Urdu literature. Because of his pragmatic and contemporary novels he is well known to the people in society. Prior to him, imaginary and unreal novels existed in Urdu literature. He has written 7 novels in Urdu literature. Binat-un-Nash, Mirat-ul-Uroos, Taubat-un-Nashuh, Fasana-e-Mubtala, Ibnul Wakth, Ayyama and Ruya-e-Sadikah etc.The themes of the novels are given below shortly. The idea of female education is a core theme of the novels. That is done by giving lessons in general education and physical sciences through conversations between a teacher and her student. This publication was also a great success. This was the time when Ahmad's writings became a mode of guidance for the girls of Muhammadan families. The author talks about how the former habits of the father led to the eldest son's being spoiled. Ahmad Nazir through his story and novels highlight the importance of grooming and disciplining kids as they are growing up. Simultaneously, he stresses to the youth to heed the advice of their elders. Ahmad tried to light up consciousness in girls about the discipline of housekeeping. Even this novel was owned by The British rule, and they published it in keeping large number.
