Abstract

The eulogy of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Andalusian Arabic poetry represents a rich literary tradition that flourished in medieval Muslim Spain, known as Al-Andalus. This abstract delves into the nuanced expressions of reverence and admiration for the Prophet within the vibrant tapestry of Andalusian Arabic poetry. Andalusian poets, deeply steeped in Islamic spirituality and poetic sophistication, crafted verses that exalted the character, virtues, and teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Through intricate linguistic devices, vivid imagery, and profound symbolism, they portrayed the Prophet as the embodiment of divine guidance, mercy, and wisdom, drawing inspiration from the Quranic revelations and Hadith literature. Andalusian poets employed various poetic forms such as zajals, muwashshahat, and kharjas to express their devotion to the Prophet, each characterized by its unique rhythmic patterns and literary conventions. These poems not only celebrated the spiritual significance of Prophet Muhammad but also served as moral beacons, advocating for justice, compassion, and ethical conduct in society. The article will highlight on the Arabic poetry in Spain and origin and development of Eulogy in this era.
